R P Compliance Testing Ltd provide services to meet the compliance requirements of Building Regulation Approved Document Part L - Conservation of fuel and power in new dwellings - Part L1' & 'Conservation of fuel and power in new buildings other than dwellings - Part L2'

We offer advice and guidance to help your building achieve a pass for Air Permeability in accordance with the relevant ATTMA technical standard/test method

R P Compliance Testing Ltd provide a complete compliance testing service for dwellings and commercial buildings using specially designed equipment. The blower door test measures the amount of air that flows into or out of a house while maintaining a set pressure difference between the inside and and the outside of the unit under test. The equipment used to perform the test is calibrated by BSRIA to UKAS requirements, which measures airflow at a variety of pressure differences of between 75Pa and 30Pa and delivers the final rating in m3/hr/m2 at a pressure of 50Pa. For larger building, a series of fans are used to meet the building pressure test requirements.

The process achieves very accurate, repeatable test results to meet the requirements of Building Regulations and the relevant technical standards

Testing is performed when the building facades, external envelope and internal finishes are complete. As soon as the building gets to this stage our Engineer will prepare and test the building at a time that fits into your schedule – normally between 8.00am and 5.30pm Monday to Friday, (alternative times may be arranged where required for a small additional fee)

Don't worry if your building doesn't pass first time, when this occurs our engineer will identify areas that may be improved and will then wait while the remedial works take place. The test will then be repeated until a satisfactory result is achieved. For information on common leakage pathways please watch the information video below.

For larger buildings, we offer a full smoke test to identify leaks in the building using a high powered, oil based fluid for safe use (shown below)

All of our measuring equipment used to carry out tests are calibrated to UKAS requirements by BSRIA, UKAS Calibration Laboratory No. 0807 and copies of certificates are available on request.
